Curriculum

We have spent time re-shaping our curriculum over time, ensuring our pupils receive coherent and sequenced teaching over time.  Our topic overview provides a quick way to see the drivers of our learning over the terms.  Each topic has been carefully considered for age-appropriate stages of development, using the Chris Quigley essentials curriculum.  As part of wider trust work, we have then worked to shape the knowledge into an entitlement structure and use a mix of declarative and procedural knowledge to drive the content of our topics.  To understand our topic teaching in more depth, please do refer to the long term planning overview below, which offers further detail in regard to subject teaching and learning.
